In September 2025, Sharon joined the Hope Ignites Colorado Team as our Mission Support Manager based out of our administrative office.
What did you do prior to joining Hope Ignites Colorado?
I have worked in fields that seem quite varied: manufacturing, early childhood education, dentistry, telecom, aviation, and homeless shelter operations. The common thread is a deep desire to help those around me and use my natural inclination toward organization, problem solving, and process improvement.
If you could share one piece of advice with scholars, what would it be?
Be open to change, always be curious, never settle!
I didn’t go to college until later in life and it was much harder! Embrace the opportunity to learn and grow now and establish a standard of continuous improvement throughout your life.
Education doesn’t necessarily make you smarter, just more informed. But it will give you better choices.
What is a fun fact you can share about yourself?
I love a good quote! Here are a few of my favorites:
“Comfort is the enemy of progress.” –P.T. Barnum
“In their hearts humans plan their course, but the LORD establishes their steps.” –Proverbs 16:9 NIV
“There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man; true nobility is being superior to your former self.” –Ernest Hemingway
“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning. “ –Benjamin Franklin
