“I’m most proud of the fact that I have been able to balance school work, and community involvement while staying focused on my long-term goals in the aviation industry.”
“Big goals are possible with dedication,” said Hope Ignites Colorado collegian, Brooke.
Soaring Through College – The Sky is the Limit
“Hope Ignites Colorado provided me with a solid support system and mentorship early on, opening doors to opportunities and dreams I never imagined possible,” said Brooke, a senior in college. As an upcoming 2026 graduate from Metropolitan State University of Denver, she is on track to earn her degree in Aviation & Aerospace Sciences, specializing in Air Traffic Control. Her aspiration is to become a pilot and ultimately establish her own aviation company or airline, one that also contributes to the community by offering affordable housing, employment, and training.
Brooke joined the Hope Ignites Colorado family during high school at Aurora Central High School. She attributes her leadership skills, time management, and confidence to the program. “I can apply the skills I learned from Hope Ignites Colorado to balance my schoolwork, job, and community involvement. I’ve built a network that supports me in my academic and career journey, allowing me to become the best version of myself,” she shared.
While diligently completing her degree, Brooke is also giving back to Hope Ignites Colorado to inspire others to stay engaged and get involved. She participates in the national Hope Ignites Alumni Panel, spoke at this year’s national Leadership Conference in March, and is actively involved in local events such as the Hope Ignites Colorado Collegian Fair, Collegian Luncheon, and various fundraising activities. “The program truly invests in you, both academically and personally, and offers opportunities that can alter the course of your future. I would wholeheartedly encourage anyone with the chance to join Hope Ignites,” she stated.
In addition to her studies, Brooke works as an Aviation Business Specialist at the Colorado Air & Space Port and is also working towards obtaining her Private Pilot License. Not only does she volunteer with Hope Ignites Colorado, but she volunteers at various local churches with graphic design, sound, and media production, and she coaches track and field at Aurora Central High School.
